I created these series of paintings to represent how people may be feeling during this pandemic.

These paintings are called ‘Thoughts’ created during the time of isolation. Acrylic paints on cardboard. The blue background is 25cm by 30cm and purple is 21cm by 29cm. I also used dried acrylic paints which had a marble effect on them.

It’s a painting of a woman on wallpaper which is torn to represent thoughts becoming too much and the slow disintegration of the mind, being isolated. In the reflection painting, one half is natural but the reflection is painted in cool tones which gives a calming effect, as if she’s found inner peace in the future. The dried acrylic in both is representing the thoughts spilling out of the mind. The purple background pose represent taking a deep breath and letting the thoughts out.
